Places to Stay
  1. Hotel Lasala Plaza - San Sebastian is so small so any hotel in the old town, center or in Gros will be well located.

  2. Hotel Arbaso - Well located hotel in San Sebastian.

  3. Hotel Maria Cristina - Well located hotel in San Sebastian.

What to Do
  1. Pintxo Tour - Join a pintxo tour from Vicky +34606714444 or Eli +34687329437.

  2. Dinner in a Cider House - Have dinner in a cider house. My favorites are Lizeaga and Zapiain (open only during cider season).

  3. Farmers/Fish Market - Visit the farmers/fish market in La Bretxa or San Martin.

  4. Surfing in Zurriola - Go surfing in Zurriola.

  5. Hike to Pasaia - Hike from San Sebastian to Pasaia. Casa Camara has good seafood if you are hungry after the paseo.

  6. Swim to Santa Clara - Swim from Ondarreta to Santa Clara. The island has a bar so bring money for a beer.

  7. Monte Urgull - Walk up Monte Urgull for nice views of San Sebastian. There is also a bar here called Urgulleko Polborina.

  8. Peine del Viento - Bike to the end of Ondarreta to see the Peine del viento.

  9. Monte Igueldo - Take the old tram up to Monte Igueldo. You can have lunch in Alaia. They have great rice dishes.

  10. Day Trips - Day trips to neighboring towns: Getaria, Hondarribia, St. Jean de Luz, Biarritz.

Museums & Historical Sites
  1. Chillida Leku - Museum dedicated to the work of sculptor Eduardo Chillida.

  2. Museo de San Telmo - Historic museum in San Sebastian.

  3. Palacio Miramar - Beautiful palace with views of San Sebastian.

Packing Tips
  1. Don't forget a rain jacket/umbrella and a swimsuit!

  1. Asador Portuetxe - For traditional Basque cuisine - chipirones pelayo, hongos a la plancha and txuleta are highly recommended.

  2. Casa 887 - For modern Basque cuisine.

  3. Amelia - For a tasting menu in La Concha.

  4. Astelena 1997 - For fine dining in the old town.

  5. Matalauva - For modern pintxos in Plaza Cataluna.

  6. Bodega Donostiara - For no fuss Basque food.

  7. Bar Nestor - For txuleta in the old town.

  8. Tamboril - For a good meal in Plaza Constitucion.

  9. Laia - Outside the city - for excellent txuleta.
